Rev. Dr. J. D. Landis

Senior Pastor

Rev. Dr. J. D. Landis has served five churches since coming to Michigan from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  During his time at Community UMC in Romulus, he completed the Doctor of Ministry at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.  J. D. also served as Senior Associate at Metropolitan UMC in Detroit and, most recently, was the Directing Pastor of Swartz Creek UMC.  He and his wife, Carolyn, have three children, David, Beth, and Natalie.

Rev. Jung Eun Yum

Associate Pastor

Jung was born and raised in South Korea, and came to the US with his wife, Somi, in 1998 to study at Fuller Theological Seminary (MDiv.) in Pasadena, CA.  He also studied missiology  (to focus on the missional identity of the church) in the Master of Theology program, and worked toward a Korean Doctor of Ministry for four years at Fuller.

Before joining the Midland First UMC staff in 2014, Jung served three churches: Glendale Korean UMC (CA), Detroit Korean UMC (MI) and Christ Korean UMC (MN). He enjoys traveling with his wife and children (Abraham, Rachel, and Hannah).

Rev. Leonard Clevenger

Administrative Director/Pastor

Len and his wife, Renae, have been faithful members of FUMC for approximately 30 years.  After a lengthy and successful international career with Dow Chemical, Len retired, answered God’s calling, and entered ordained ministry in 2007.  He served as pastor at Mapleton UMC, St. Paul UMC in Bloomfield Hills, and led the formation of Grace UMC in Bay City.  Len graduated with a Masters of Divinity from Methodist Theological School, Delaware, Ohio, where he received the faculty’s Journalism Award for Biblical Interpretation and Application.  Len’s passions for ministry are church growth, new church starts, and aiding the persecuted Christian Church.

Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Maxwell

Pastor of Congregational Care

During his years as a United Methodist elder, Dr. Maxwell served in four appointments: the Kilmanagh and Unionville UMC charge, Holly: Calvary UMC, and Farmington: First UMC. His last appointment was to the Saginaw Bay District as Superintendent and he recently retired from that position on June 30, 2016.  He has joined the FUMC staff on a part-time basis.
